Nightfall: Chapter 4

There's a meatpacking plant near here. We could go run around that and see what happens.

I had traded out my normal expensive attire for a pair of jeans and black jacket. I'm sitting at bar 'The Lonesome Stallion'. Its more of a older darker bar, and the Patrons aren't there to party, but to rather enjoy a nice drink and think. So it was the perfect place for me to lay low, and wait. The door swung open, and a new patron entered the Bar. I my eyes flickered up, and I motion her over with a head tilt. She slides over and sits on the stool next to me.

C: "Laveau, it's been a long time."

I grin shaking her hand.

L:"Same Claire, how New Orleans? I've been thinking heading back down."

C:"Things have calmed down, we ran the last of the wolves out a while back. You're welcome back anytime you want, the Silver Hand treats their family well."

L grinning:"I may. Big Mamma is probably missing me."

I let a out a chuckle.

C:"Big Mamma hasn't been up to much good lately, though I hear her Chili is still the best in the bayou."

L:"Mhmm... her Chili is to die for, in fact one time-... well that's a long story. Anyways what are you doing up here?"

I cast a glance, checking that no one is listening.

C:"Do you remember a Miss Sofia Marivich?"

L:"I remember a little pip squeak thinking she was a big deal. (Laughs) I wasn't sure what would kill her first, you or her large head."

C:"Yeah well, now she's back headhunting. Apparently me and her dad are on top of her list."

L:"Her dad... oh shit... (places head on bar Laughing) Why didn't I see this before!"

C:"You know the poor bastard?"

L:"I dated him! Even better he's a vampire."

C:"What all do you know about him? My resources back in the bayou could only point her hate towards him."

L:"I know enough. I could arrange a meeting with him if you want?"

I ponder it for a second, then nod.

C:"The enemy of my enemy is my friend. I may have some boys brought up, but in the meantime keep a watch on Sofia. I'll be holed up here if you need me, just don't attract any attention."

L:"Alright (Stands) It was nice seeing you again Claire."

C:"You too Laveau, take care."

(Sofia)

=I grin, the thrill of the moment surging through my veins=

I'm up for that challenge.

=I continue to stretch, my old injuries hampering my stretching a bit=

(Anton)

=I sit inside what was now formally, my property after a long period of negotiations and an exchange of money, the property that I formally purchased back in 1898 was now mine=

And rightfully deserved...

=I frown a bit=

I should change the decor a bit...because it REALLY doesn't entirely suit me...

=I plop in a chair, content to have my property back=

(L)

I knock at Anton's door and wait.

I hope this goes well...

(V)
=i nod and change form, shaking my body once I was fully turned. I nodded at the newcomer and raced off, a silent hint to follow=

(Anton)

=I mutter a Slavic curse under my breath=

Who could it be now...let's hope to God it's not Sofia...

=I come and open the door, my eyes widening briefly in surprise=

Laveau?!? What the hell are you doing here?

(Sofia)

=I quickly change form as well, following Veni like I would prey=

Let's see what the game will be...

=I then picked up the pace, my strides getting longer=

(L)

I laugh at his reaction.

"You daughter is being a real charmer, and making friends with the big kids at the playground."

I roll my eyes.

"In other words she pissed off a powerful friend of mine and she wants to talk to you."

(Anton)

=I quirk up a brow, curious=

She would piss off Claire...figures...

Really? What does she want with little old me?

(V)
=i could hear the new wolf following along behind me, and I increased my speed a bit, hurrying just the little bit faster to the plant=

(L)

I roll my eyes again, grinning and pull him out into the hallway.

"Just a chat, nothing bad."

(Anton)

=I smile=

I guess it won't hurt to have a chat with her.

=I follow Laveau outside=

(Sofia)

=I let out a low growl and quicken up my pace=

Two can play at that game...

=I feel the wind rush through my fur, my mind awash with excitement=

(L)

I grab a cab and hop in with Anton.

"Its only a short ride, we'll be there in a bit"

(V)
=i reached the packing plant first, and paused near the door, waiting for the new one to come join me=

(Anton)

=I hop in the cab next to Laveau, my car beckoning me like a tray of brownies=

Another time then...

Alright.

One thing I wish she never inherited...my often short temper...

=I sigh=

(Sofia)

=I meet Veni at the door to the plant, an expectant look on my face=

-What's next?-

=I give a slight growl=

(V)
-We race in the plant, of course-

=i jump up and grab the door handle with my paws, and walk back to open it up=

(Sofia)

=I howl with delight=

-Sounds like fun.-

=I feel my body ripple with anticipation=

(V)
=i snap at her=
-Quiet-

=i walk inside and wait=

(Sofia)

=I hang my head low in shame=

-My apologies.-

=I then feel my body bristle in annoyance, following Veni like a puppy=

(V)
-Have you not learned that we are being hunted?? Keep your howls and yelps to yourself. If you manage to bring the Nightbane or other humans to us, I will NOT be so kind.-

=i line up next to a piece of machinery=
-Two times around the outside, then the first one out the door-

(Sofia)

=I hang my head=

-Understood.-

=I line up next to Veni=

-Fair enough. Ready when you are.-

(V)
=i don't even bother with a countdown, instead just running off=

(Sofia)

=I snarl and run after Veni, pouring on the speed as I did so=

Let's see who wins...

=I keep silent, my entire being focused on the race=

(V)
=i bound over machinery, and duck under conveyer belts and pipes, feeling my muscles burn with the energy use=

(Sofia)

=I copy her every move, matching her stride for stride=

Come on, is this all you got...?

=I feel my muscles burn with energy, but I quicken my pace, making her have to expend more energy=

=I keep my pace even, making it easier for me to move around the things in my way=
