Nightfall: Chapter 2

That's okay. We've got all the time in eternity.

=we come up on a meatpacking plant=
Here we are. Stay sharp, I'd rather not deal with any guards.

Tria finally spoke up.
"I was bitten a few years ago. I never was a wolf. Never. This is my curse."
She slipped her earbuds out. "Your tribe can have it's traditions and stories; don't try and say my brother snd sister are really wolves."
Tria stuck close to Veni, earbuds hung around her neck.

=i look at Tria and mentally sigh=
Tria...

=i had that tone like "you really shouldn't be here=
-This could get dangerous, Tria. You know that?-

"That's why I came:); you're hopeless without me."
Tria delivered this deadpan.

=i looked at her completely serious=
Well, then stick close. You do what I do. Understand?

=I look at Tria with a hard glare=

That child needs to learn some respect...

=I then turn my attention to surroundings=

"Uh-huh." She said. "I know."
Slipping her earbuds in, Tria leaned against Veni.

=i put my hand on her shoulder furthest from me and idly wondered what I could do to get her to not follow people everywhere. It'd get her in trouble one of these days. Anyway, I motioned everyone towards the back door of the plant. I know we weren't in yet, but guards could patrol the outside as well. I quickly ran, as silently as I could to the door and pressed up against the side=

=I follow Veni towards the backdoor of the plant. I silently lament at Tria's somewhat careless actions=

She'll get herself killed one day...

=I line up behind Veni, placing myself silently against the wall, my ear pressed to the side to listen for any noise=

=i open the door slightly and take a peak inside. Machinery was working, but I couldn't see anyone. This must've been one of the more automated ones. I motioned people inside as I opened the door wider=

=I follow Veni inside, wary of any unpleasant company that might be following us. Years as a leader during the Dark Ages taught me to be careful everywhere I went=

Fat lot of good that did me when I was 30...

=I continue in, my eyes scanning the plant=

The wolf growls slightly, more of a cautious one than a threatening one, before leaning closer and sniffing her.

What the fuck is this? Why hasn't it attacked?

Once inside the building Ayashe’s constitution was shattered as she saw a partially open crate of packed and ready to ship meat. The sensations she felt through the factory’s atmosphere set her senses on fire. Her hands shook as she ran over to the meat like a primeval predator ready to dive in with little regard for her surroundings. At this moment in time, as the packed flesh skimmed her finger tips Ayashe’s was unreachable by any other force, she yearned for the blood and body. She sunk her teeth into a packet of steaks trying to tear through the polystyrene shield that guarded it from her ilk. Her buoyant grip stabbed the box as she started howling anticipation. Her jabs and crunching became more desperate as the prize she sought so sorely was just centimetres away.

Ayashe’s vision became inflamed with hunger, unable to communicate to anyone or anything around her.

I take another step then slowly put my hand on his side and begin to gently stroke him.

I think its working.

The wolf continues to examine her, ignoring the hand.

Holy. Shit. It hasn't mauled her yet.

Sighing, Tria slipped a knife from her ankle band, and casually yanked Ayashe's head back, slicing the cover from the meat with a few deft slices.
"Jeez..." she said, cleaning her knife on her jeans. "Can't ya do anything right.."
Tria flipped the switchblade closed and headed back to Veni.

I continue to pet the wolf.

"See... you don't want to kill me.."

The wolf moves away, seemingly bored with this and explores the room. It seems calmer than it should.

Well he's not going to kill me... but It dosn't look like hes changing...

"Conner you be good... I need to think."

I sit down on the couch and think.

What the hell am I going to do with a giant wolf?

The wolf was interested in things, it'd only seen them through me, because I kept it subdued, like I should.

But it wanted to see, taste, smell and feel things for itself, so it'd bitten through some of the cupboard doors, eaten them and continued on.

My train of thought is interrupted by the sound of Conner chewing on things.

"Shit! No bad Conner!"

I lead him over to the couch.

"Sit!"

When she led the wolf over to the couch, telling him what to do, I expected it to rip her arm off. But it didn't, it actually did what she said.

What the hell is going on...?

So far I had him under control, but how long would that last?

"Conner you need to take control."

Maybe I should try to talk to the wolf?

It was strange, how the wolf had not attacked or tried to leave, usually when you lost control, a lot of people died. But this...

"Let go... give Conner control.."
